Overview
The Lightwaves LT 905 Downhole Sand monitor features a new tool architecture, integrating advanced sensor design, signal processing technology, and analytical algorithms to accurately detect downhole sand ingress points and assess sand production rates in different flow areas. This monitoring device can seamlessly connect with production service platform, advancing traditional logging techniques into a new phase: sand multi-phase production logging. The compact tool is compatible with cable and tractor delivery systems, suitable for various operational environments.

Principle
It is mainly based on the principle of passive ultrasonic waves, distinguishing different particles by analyzing their size and the amplitude of the sound signal. This algorithm applies intelligent threshold technology to conduct quality monitoring of counting results and detection rates, and provides confidence assessment of production rates. Compared with the conventional measurements of filters or acoustic detection sensors applied to the surface, the LT 905 can provide more accurate measurement results. The sand particle counting data can be further transformed into sand product information such as the sand product volume and sand product rate.
